Join the Lower Merion Conservancy for wine and cheese while our own Director of Historic Preservation, Kathleen Abplanalp, gives a lecture on the industrial-era history of Belmont Hills and its sister village, Pencoyd. During the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, these two Schuylkill River communities supported an extensive network of local factories and manufacturing interests. The residents of Belmont Hills and Pencoyd, who represented both local and immigrant populations, shaped these communities into unique places that continue to enliven Lower Merion.
