West Mill Creek Park

Old Gulph Rd, Penn Valley, PA

On the heels of a 2005 wetland planting in the park, the Conservancy partnered with Lower Merion Township in 2007 to secure DEP Growing Greener Funds to stabilize the stream banks in the park.  Volunteers from Main Line Health participating in the United Way Day of Caring installed 600 native trees and shrubs to knit the stream banks together.  This site also includes a cross vane to reduce pressure on the stream banks and give the new native vegetation time to establish strong root systems.
