4:00pm to 6:00pm
The Conservancy Cottage in Rolling Hill Park
1301 Rose Glen Road, Gladwyne, PA 19035
Join us every other Wednesday from 4pm to 6pm to help native plants get a leg up around the Conservancy cottage in Rolling Hill Park. We target specific invasive plants to give native plants the best chance possible while minimizing soil disturbance. Our main focus will be on pulling Japanese hops. We also contend with mugwort, porcelain berry, and multiflora rose. Other tasks include watering, planting, and hauling/spreading wood chips.
Feel free to pop in and pop out, you do not need to arrive at 4pm or stay until 6pm. Even 10 minutes of energy makes a difference. The work requires focus and effort but there will always be interesting birds, bees, and butterflies flying around to keep the outings fun. No experience is necessary, we will give you guidance to get started.
The workdays are weather dependent, if rain is in the forecast check this webpage to see if the workday is still happening. Please wear or at least bring a long-sleeved shirt, pants, and closed toed shoes. Bring gardening gloves if you have them but we have extras if you need them.
Email [email protected] if you have any questions. We hope to see you soon!
